Erik Grip has released more than 20 solo albums.
He received platinum for a 100.000 copy sale of "De levendes land" (rel.1983
), on which album Erik Grip composed melodies to the lyrics of psalmist N.F.S.Grundtvig
(1783-1872), the founder of the folk high school concept. The song "Velkommen
i den grønne lund" from that album gave Erik Grip his big breakthrough, both
commercially and critically.
Erik Grip has received "The Søren Gyldendal Award" for the music he's composed
for classic Danish poetry and an "Award of Honour" from his colleagues for "his
honest approach to folk singing".
